What We Do

Basic Life Support  

Basic Life Support services include out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients.  Basic life Support Services are part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight.  Lower Allen Township EMS provides Basic Life Support with a minimum of two highly qualified Emergency Medical Technicians.  Emergency Medical Technicians possess the knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency to life threatening emergencies.  Basic Life Support Services are the first critical link between the scene of an emergency and the health care system. 

Intermediate Advanced Life Support  

Intermediate Advanced Life Support provides basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients.  Intermediate Advanced Life Support is part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight.  Intermediate Advanced Life Support units are staffed with a minimum of one Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and one Emergency Medical Technician.  Intermediate Advanced Life Support units provide the first level of advanced care and treatment at the scene of an emergency.  

Advanced Life Support  

Advanced Life Support provides advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergency patients.  Advanced Life Support is part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight.  Advanced Life Support units are staffed with a minimum of one paramedic and one emergency medical technician.  Paramedics perform advanced skills such as cardiac monitoring and advanced airway management.  Advanced Life Support is the advanced link from the scene into the health care system 

Community Paramedicine 

Community paramedicine is an emerging model that enhances the role of EMS providers, so they are partners in public health and community healthcare delivery.  Community paramedics perform health screenings, post discharge education, home safety education and provide a critical link between the patient and the health care system in the patient’s home.  Lower Allen Township EMS partners with UMPC to provide community paramedicine services for the residents of Lower Allen Township.
