Public Works

The Public Works Department is comprised of multiple different departments; Roadway Maintenance, Parks Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, and Facilities Maintenance.

The Roadway Maintenance Department performs maintenance activities for approximately 60 miles of Township maintained roads. This maintenance includes repairs of street signs, road surface repairs and maintenance, leaf collection, snow plowing and salting, storm drain cleaning and repair, and street sweeping. The Park Maintenance Department service and maintain the 12 Township parks that total over 130 acres of land. This maintenance includes mowing, brush clearing, playground maintenance, leaf collection, sports court maintenance, and more. This department also maintains 10 Right-of-Way areas throughout the Township and assists with leaf collection and snow plowing in the fall and winter seasons.

The Fleet Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, inspections, and appearance of the fleet inventory that is comprised of a variety of equipment and their attachments, as well as all Township owned vehicles. The Fleet Maintenance Department is housed at the Public Works Facility, but is able to mobilize to perform emergency repairs to any equipment or vehicle that is broken down elsewhere in the Township.

The Facilities Maintenance Department services all of the Township owned facilities, which includes the Municipal Service Center, the Public Works Facility, the barn at Lower Allen Community Park, Lower Allen Fire Company Station #2, and Lisburn Community Fire Station.
