Lower Allen Township Employee Benefits Summary

Single or family medical, prescription dental and vision coverage is available on the first day of employment. Premium co-pay may be in effect. Incentive to waive healthcare available.

Long-term disability and life insurance coverage fully paid by Lower Allen Township.

Retirement plan, employee contributes 2% (min) and Township contributes 8%.

10 paid holidays per year:

112.5-120 paid sick hours per year. Employees earn sick leave on the first day of the month following one full month of employment. Employees will be eligible to take sick leave after thirty days of continuous employment. Sick leave will then accrue at 4.33 hours per pay.

30-32 paid personal hours per year. Personal hours are earned at the rate of 7.5-8 hours per quarter (January 1, April 1, June 1, and October 1).

Vacation days per year as follows:
  • First 5 years: 75-80 hours
  • After 5 years: 112.5-120 hours
  • After 10 years: 150-160 hours
  • After 20 years: 187.5-200 hours
Optional payroll contributions into the Township’s Governmental 457(b) Plan. You may elect to contribute per pay period a dollar amount as Before Tax or as a Roth contribution.
  • Leave is based on 7.5 or 8 hour workday, depending on classification.
